A pet entrance that moves with you
The insert assembles from two sections and adjusts to the compatible track height. For renters, the removable adhesive installation option offers an alternative to a permanent door cut-out. Check your lease or landlord’s requirements before fitting, and keep the original door hardware for when you move.
The panel occupies part of the sliding doorway, so the remaining opening for people becomes narrower. Measure both the track and the space you need to walk through before choosing a size. This is a panel insert for sliding glass doors; it is not a flap that a glazier fits into a cut hole.
Compare Small, Medium and Large
Choose by your pet’s measurements first. Weight limits are a guide, and the opening must comfortably accommodate your pet’s widest point. Metric figures below are approximate conversions of PetSafe’s official sizing chart.
| Size | Flap opening (W × H) | Panel width | Step-over rise | Pet weight guide | PetSafe model |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Small | 13.3 × 20.8 cm | 21.5 cm | 4.4 cm | Up to 6.8 kg | PPA11-14766 |
| Medium | 21.0 × 31.0 cm | 29.2 cm | 4.4 cm | Up to 18.1 kg | PPA11-14767 |
| Large | 26.0 × 41.6 cm | 34 cm | 10.8 cm | Up to 45.4 kg | PPA11-14768 |
All three sizes use the same approximately 195–206 cm track-height range and have an approximately 1.9 cm panel depth. For body clearance, PetSafe’s measurement diagram recommends chest height below 19.05 cm and width below 13 cm for Small; chest height below 28.5 cm and width below 20.5 cm for Medium; and chest height below 39 cm and width below 25.5 cm for Large. Chest height is measured from the shoulders to the bottom of the chest, rather than from the floor.
Close the opening when you need to
Slide the included closing panel into place to restrict pet access. The supplied latch kits allow the household sliding door to lock with the insert fitted; their suitability depends on your frame and installation. The closing panel controls the pet opening and does not make the insert childproof or replace normal home-security precautions.
Help keep draughts outside
A magnetic closure helps the tinted flap settle after your pet passes through. Weather stripping and the glass sweep help seal around the panel, while the aluminium frame and tempered glass are built for everyday use. Careful fitting matters: follow the manual to minimise gaps and check the flap regularly for dirt or wear.
Before you install
- Measure from the inside of the upper sliding-door track to the inside of the lower track. Confirm the height falls within approximately 195–206 cm.
- Check track depth, frame shape, panel width and the remaining walkway. The insert is not guaranteed to fit every aluminium, timber or uPVC door system.
- Measure your pet while standing and compare chest width, chest height, flap opening and step-over rise. A cardboard opening can help you assess comfort before installation.
- Read the complete installation guide. Assemble the two sections, fit the height adjuster and choose the appropriate adhesive or screw-fixed method.
- Fit the supplied seals and latch hardware, then confirm that the insert is stable and the household door locks correctly.
No glass cut-out is required. Screw-fixed or permanent installations can require drilling, and some door systems need additional hardware from a hardware store. Do not trim the panel or assume an existing lock will engage without adapting the installation as described in the manual.

Everyday use and care
Introduce the flap gradually with short, supervised sessions and rewards. Keep another familiar route available while your pet learns. Clean the flap and seals gently, inspect the frame and fixings regularly, and check that the magnetic closure moves freely.
Safety: small children can pass through a pet door. Supervise access, assess risks on both sides of the opening and use the closing panel when access should be restricted. Read all manufacturer warnings before fitting.
Questions before choosing
Can I fit it in a rental property?
The removable installation option is intended to suit rentals and apartments. Confirm permission, track compatibility and the proposed latch installation with your landlord before fitting.
Does it require cutting the glass?
No. The panel sits in the sliding-door track. Some screw-fixed installations require drilling the frame or additional hardware; follow the installation guide for your door.
Will it fit a taller South African sliding door?
Only if the inside track-to-track measurement is within approximately 195–206 cm and the track and frame are compatible. A nominal door size is not enough: measure the actual opening.
Does it recognise my pet’s microchip?
No. This is a manual magnetic-closing flap, not a microchip or electronic selective-entry door. Other animals may use an open flap.
Which size should I choose for two pets?
Check both pets against the dimensions, especially the larger pet’s width and the smaller pet’s ability to step over the rise. Do not choose by weight alone.
