Fit and adjustment

Measure around the widest part of your dog’s ribcage and check both girth and weight. If the girth is at the upper end of the range, Outward Hound recommends choosing the next size up. Also consider body shape, including broad shoulders or a long torso.

With your dog standing, centre the jacket on the back near the base of the neck. Secure the neck closure and belly band, fasten the buckles, then tighten the straps evenly. A secure fit should still allow two fingers between the jacket and your dog. Recheck the adjustment when wet.

Visibility and handling

The bright yellow fabric and reflective accents improve visibility. Ripstop material, foam panels and the front neck float provide buoyant support, while the top handles should be used for emergency lifting only.

This product is a flotation aid for a conscious dog in calm water; it is not a substitute for supervision. Never leave a dog unattended while wearing it. Remove and replace the jacket if it becomes damaged. It is intended for dogs only. Hand wash in warm water with mild soap and allow it to air dry.
